Welcome to the Providence College Department of Public Safety. Public Safety operates twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
The mission of the Providence College Department of Public Safety is to safeguard members of the College community, to protect private and institutional property, and to prevent crime. The Department of Public Safety strives to maintain an atmosphere of professionalism, courtesy and respect, while embracing diversity through community engagement, and hiring and training practices that enhance the overall mission of the Division of Student Affairs and Providence College.
The safety and security of all members of the Providence College community are among this institution's highest priorities. On behalf of College President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P., we want to assure our students and their families, and our faculty and staff, that we have a coordinated and comprehensive plan in place for responding to a variety of emergencies that could occur as a result of human action or natural events. Members of the Providence College Public Safety and Emergency Management teams work collaboratively with the Providence Police Department to monitor local, regional, national, and international events that may affect Providence College. Key information is shared between our team and local, state, and federal law‐enforcement teams. Learn more about our office and policies here.
