A Celebration of Multiculturalism and Diversity at PC
A celebration engaging and recognizing the diversity among alumni of Providence College occurred Nov. 3-5. The event also offered alumni a chance to reconnect with classmates and friends.Activities included the official opening of The Center
at Moore Hall, a new campus center focused on the College’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. This multipurpose space will foster ongoing engagement with the arts, scholarship, and learning, and be a place for authentic dialogue focused on themes of social justice and community.

Celebration of Saint Martin de Porres4:30 p.m. | Saint Martin statue between Martin Hall and Phillips Memorial LibraryThe Providence College community is invited to celebrate the feast day of St. Martin de Porres on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 as we kick off Reflecting Forward: A Celebration of Multiculturalism and Diversity. A prayer service will be offered in honor of the Dominican lay brother from Lima, Peru.
Members of the Dominican community will offer remarks on the work of St. Martin de Porres and offer quiet time for prayer.

| Ryan Center for Business Studies
During lunch, keynote speaker James P. Huguley, Ed.D. ’99 will address issues of diversity and inclusion in higher education. Huguley is assistant professor, Center on Race and Social Problems, School of Social Work, and co-coordinator, Combined Program in Social Work and Education, at the University of Pittsburgh. His work focuses on school-based interventions that promote positive developmental outcomes for students of color.
